Homeschoolers across the Carolinas are urged to contact their state and US representatives and senators on the following issues at once. Timing is everything. As homeschoolers, we are presently in the fight of our lives. YOUR ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IS NEEDED! If you have never been involved in the political arena or stood for any issue, now is the time to do so.

Every level of government that affects homeschoolers in the Carolinas is currently considering or preparing to vote on legislation that will affect or jeopardize our rights as parents and as homeschoolers.

This past Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009 in the US Senate, it was reported:
Currently, the NC legislature is making inquiries into equal access legislation that would allow homeschoolers access to public education extracurricular activities. Our own group has been approached for input. (see related article under Site News)

Also the SC legislation is poised to re-introduce school choice legislation that would allow parents to claim a credit against their state tax liability or that would make scholarships available through private donors so that choice would become a viable option to all. (see related article under Site News)

We can't ignore these issues anymore and we can't do this alone. Please find the time and courage to research and act upon these issues as soon as possible. Homeschoolers and parents everywhere need your support.
